Shebelle Ethiopia Conference Services is a conference and event organizing company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Established in 1999, Shebelle works to facilitate conferences and trainings held in Ethiopia.

Since its founding, Shebelle Ethiopia Conference Services has built a peerless reputation for professionalism.

The first international conference organized by Shebelle was for the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) in December 1999. The success of UNITAR's conference resulted in many other international organizations requesting the services of Shebelle in arranging their meetings and events in Addis Ababa.

In 2004, Shebelle competed for and won the bid to organize the first international conference held outside the United States by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Addis Ababa. The success of this event consequently led CDC to recommend Shebelle, as the organization that could best assist the International Training and Education Center for HIV/AIDS (I-TECH), of the University of Washington, in establishing itself in Ethiopia.

Shebelle took on this challenge and was responsible for renting and paying for office premises, purchasing office equipment and furniture, and advising I-TECH on all aspects of business life in Ethiopia.

Shebelle then organized a small number of training programmes for I-TECH in various locations around the country. From this initial humble beginning, the association between the two organizations has grown to such an extent that Shebelle now co-ordinates more than 150 training programmes annually, in many parts of Ethiopia.

Following this successful partnership between I-TECH and Shebelle, many other US-based organizations have asked Shebelle to conduct regular training programmes for them across Ethiopia.

Shebelle currently conducts hundreds of training programmes per year for, among others, the University of California in San Diego, the International Center for AIDS Care and Treatment Program, Johns Hopkins University, Columbia University, and the Tulane University Technical Assistance for Ethiopia program.

Shebelle has organized conferences for organizations such as the World Bank, the Department for International Development, the International Labor Organization, the Carter Center and the MOIBRAHIM Foundation.

Currently, Shebelle, working as a conference and event organiser in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, has over 100 full time staff members and a number of skilled consultants who can be called upon for projects as needed.
